Trump’s name scrubbed from Kennedy Center of Performing Arts

The John F. Kennedy Center of Performing Arts complied with a court order to remove President Trump’s name from the facade of the building by noon Saturday, but a tarp remains up on the building. Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer Matt Flocca told the court on Saturday the institution did comply with the court order to remove Trump’s name, stating the Board of Trustees and the institution removed “all physical signage on the Kennedy Center building and grounds, including the front portico, that purports to rename the Kennedy Center after President Trump.”

FDA approves first new sunscreen ingredient in 25 years 

Americans now have access to a skin-protecting chemical already used in Europe and other parts of the world for many years. Federal regulators signed off on the ingredient bemotrizinol, as it met the agency’s standards for protecting against ultraviolet rays without absorbing into the skin or causing irritation. Bemotrizinol will initially be sold in the U.S. by DSM Nutritional Products under the brand name Parsol Shield, expected to launch later in the year. After an 18-month exclusivity period, the ingredient will be available for use by other manufacturers.

Texas shooter kills 1, injures 10

On Friday 45-year-old suspect Victor Mata Villarreal killed 1 bystander and injured 10 others while firing at police just days after firing at a police officer during a chase. Villarreal barricaded himself in an abandoned veterinary clinic, where he was eventually found dead, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
